ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

"The thirst is gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills"

Ramadan Sunnahs

Prophetic Traditions

1️⃣

Hastening Iftar

Break your fast immediately after sunset, preferably with dates and water, following the Sunnah.

2️⃣

Delaying Suhoor

Have Suhoor as late as possible before Fajr to gain strength and follow prophetic guidance.

3️⃣

Breaking Fast with Dates

Begin Iftar with dates as practiced by the Prophet ﷺ.

4️⃣

Taraweeh Prayer

Perform Taraweeh prayers in congregation every night during Ramadan.

5️⃣

Increase Quran Recitation

Recite the Quran abundantly and aim to complete it at least once in Ramadan.

6️⃣

Generosity & Charity

Give charity generously. The Prophet ﷺ was the most generous in Ramadan.

7️⃣

I'tikaf

Observe I'tikaf during the last ten days, seeking Laylat al-Qadr.

8️⃣

Feeding a Fasting Person

Provide Iftar to someone fasting — you receive the same reward.

9️⃣

Dua at Iftar

Make sincere dua at the time of breaking fast — it is highly accepted.

Qiyam al-Layl

Pray voluntary night prayers, especially during the last third of the night.

  • Avoid backbiting, gossip, and spreading rumors

  • Refrain from lying, cheating, and deception

  • Control anger and avoid arguments and disputes

  • Avoid wastefulness and extravagance in food and spending

  • Don't waste time in excessive sleep during the day

  • Avoid idle talk, vain entertainment, and useless activities

  • Don't delay repentance - turn to Allah immediately

  • Don't waste precious time, especially the last 10 nights

Laylat al-Qadr

The greatest night of the year — better than a thousand months.

  • Seek it during the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan.
  • Most likely the 27th night of Ramadan.
  • Increase in prayer, dua, and Quran recitation.

🕌Taraweeh Prayer

The special night prayer performed during Ramadan.

  • Begins approximately 15–20 minutes after Isha prayer.
  • Duration: 1 to 1.5 hours.
  • The Quran is usually completed over 30 nights.

💝Zakat al-Fitr

An obligatory charity given before Eid prayer.

  • Amount: Approximately 25–30 SAR per person.
  • Time: Must be given before Eid prayer.
  • It may be paid at any time during Ramadan.

Health Tips for Fasting in Riyadh
