Privacy Policy Summary

Prayertimesriyadh.com respects visitors' privacy. You do not need to create an account or provide personal information to view prayer times. We do, however, use limited technical data and cookies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and understand how it is used.

This policy explains the data we process when you use the site, why we use it, the third parties that help operate it, and the choices available to you. It is intended to align with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and the general principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.

Information We Collect

The site's core functions—prayer times, Hijri date, and Qibla direction—do not require an account or personal information. When you browse, technical and usage data may be processed through Google Analytics, including browser and device type, pages visited, cookies or similar identifiers, and approximate location derived from IP address, as explained below. If you contact us, we process the name, email address, or message you choose to send so that we can reply.

Cookies

The site uses functional cookies to remember your settings and Google Analytics cookies and similar technologies to measure site use. The table below lists the functional cookies set directly by the site. You can manage or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking functional cookies may prevent your preferences from being saved.

Cookie Name Purpose Duration
ptr_method Saves your selected prayer-time calculation method (such as Umm al-Qura or the Muslim World League). One year
ptr_school Saves your selected juristic school for calculating Asr time (Shafi'i or Hanafi). One year
pll_language Saves your preferred display language (Arabic or English), managed by the Polylang plugin. About one year

The Language Cookie

The site uses the Polylang plugin to manage its multilingual content, which may save a simple cookie to remember your preferred language (Arabic or English) between visits, not linked to any personally identifying data.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site and to improve its performance and content. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to collect data such as pages visited, browser and device type, interactions with the site, approximate location derived from IP address, and online identifiers. Google processes this information under its own Privacy Policy. You can control cookies through your browser settings and use Google's available tools to manage advertising and privacy settings.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

The site is preparing to use Google AdSense to display advertising. When Google ads are displayed, Google and third-party advertising vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to serve and measure ads. Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and/or other sites. You can manage personalised ads in Google Ads Settings and read How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps. If we use other ad networks, we will update this policy to identify them and link to their available opt-out choices.

Third-Party APIs (Aladhan API)

This site relies on Aladhan API to fetch astronomical prayer-time and Hijri-calendar data. All of these data requests are made directly from this site's servers to Aladhan API, not from your browser or device — meaning your personal information or IP address is never sent to Aladhan API while you browse this site.

The results of these requests are cached temporarily on our servers (up to 12 hours for prayer times, and 30 days for Hijri-calendar conversions) to reduce the number of requests and speed up page loading — entirely unrelated to your personal data.

Your Preferences

When you choose a prayer-time calculation method or juristic school from the homepage, your choice is saved in a cookie on your device for one year, so the times shown match your preference on future visits without having to choose again.

GDPR Considerations

If you are in the European Union or European Economic Area, you may have rights—depending on the circumstances and applicable law—to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or request portability of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it. To make a request about data we control, contact us through the Contact Us page. Data processed by Google Analytics may be subject to Google’s own policy and procedures.

Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) Considerations

As a site serving Riyadh, this site is subject to the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) issued by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). We follow the principles of transparency, purpose limitation, and data minimisation, and process personal data under an appropriate legal basis. We do not sell personal data or share it for our own marketing purposes.

Children's Privacy

This site offers general content and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from users under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page, and we recommend reviewing it periodically.
